I stayed in this cozy hostel for 8 nights looking for a time-out after having travelled through Bali for a week. The hostel has a very personal atmosphere about it as its staff members are very friendly, helpful and reliable. It has nice 6 rooms with Air Conditioning and very comfortable beds. The host, Bobby, is an open-minded and gentle guy who can immediately provide guests with all the necessary information they need to have a pleasant stay in at the edge of South Sulawesi (including restaurants, dive spots, snorkeling areas and transport methods). He speaks English, German and Indonesian and is even up to taking visitors to places in the area. The Beach Panrang Luhu is only a 2-minute-walk from the hostel and the paradisal Bara Beach is just a 20-minute-walk from here or a ten-minute drive by scooter. I can highly recommend you to come here if you want to discover this seemingly undiscovered part of Indonesia with the help of a local.

We visited Bira many times because we built a Phinisi Boat at Panrang Luhu Beach, and most of the time we stayed in this lovely hostel. Our room was always clean, the air-conditioning was not noisy, and the hot-water shower worked perfectly! The value for money is really good. Especially the bed and its sheets are comfortable to sleep in after a hard day. Greetings to Bobby and his friendly staff! Hope to visit Bira soon again!

We visited Bira for two weeks in 2019 and had a wonderful time in this beautiful fishermen village. The people were super friendly and sometimes even asked us to take pictures with them. The beach is beautifully remote, and on some days you feel like the whole beach belongs to yourself. What we liked most is the feeling that every day felt like a Sunday. The food was surprisingly good at Bira with good restaurants and nice Ambiente. If you stay for a while, you will for sure get to know the Bira community of ex-pats, who love their Bintang Beer and a good conversation! One of our highlights was a bonfire beach party at Bora Beach. We left Bira full-hearted and with a lot of new friends.
